Overview:

Novosibirsk State Technical University is one of the largest research and educational centers of Russia. NSTU participates in a number of international academic programs, such as EAU, EAIE, SPACE,TEMPUS and ERASMUS MUNDUS.

NSTU tightly cooperates with the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science (SB RAS) and a number of overseas partners. The University has concluded 98 agreements on cooperation in the field of scientific research. The University teaching staff participates in many programs of European Community, various international conferences and symposiums. During the last seven years, NSTU was the venue for more than 40 various international events.

The main task of the summer school is to introduce laser physics and the art of laser applications to students and postgrads. The school is aimed at providing students with a basic knowledge of nonlinear optics and fiber optics, a physical basis of different types of automatic laser systems and laser technologies used in advanced metrology, telecommunications and industry.

The school lecturers are professors and associate professors of NSTU and scientists of SB RAS. All of them are notable for their fruitful research activity. High professional qualification of the lecturers is proven by a strong track of scientific publications and reports, awards for scientific and academic projects, worldwide scientific collaboration. Moreover, the school has invited an overseas honorary professor from Aston University (Birmingham, UK). He represents the Photonics Research Group which is world-known for the developments of novel fiber laser systems for telecommunications.

Conditions:

The school offers 2-week courses (4-6 academic hours each working day). The total is 36 academic hours that make one credit.

Cost of the full program - 900 € (the cost covers expenses related to the educational program, accommodation in Novosibirsk and Altay, transfer from Novosibirsk to Altay, basic cultural and touristic program)

Accommodation in Novosibirsk:

Rooms in the student hostel (each room is shared by 3-4 students).

Accommodation in Altai:

Bungalows on the territory of the University summer camp "Erlagol".
